Born in a small village at the foot of the mountains, Luk’yan has given body, mind, and soul to a single purpose: to earn his place in the Order of Zorya as a Knight-Paladin and serve the people of Kyliya. He was taught young what was right, what was wrong, and where he belonged: at the side of the Seers, who walk in holy light and stand firm between the folk and evil. Not yet deemed worthy of initiation, he meets a Seer of the Order who arrives in his village — mighty, benevolent, poised: the living embodiment of all the Order teaches. Luk’yan loses his heart at once. The man is everything he has ever allowed himself to want… Isn’t he?
